Landscape with a City and a Townie
The exhibition “Landscape with a City and a Townie” focuses on the experience of modernization and urbanization at the beginning of the 20th century – how Estonian artists depicted urban space and urbanite in their artworks.
The exposition mainly consists of works made by Estonian artists at the beginning of the 20th century, but it also includes Friedebert and Elo Tuglas’s photograph collection.
“Landscape with a City and a Townie” took place in the main exhibition hall of the Estonian National Library 12. October–2. November. 2019.

Exhibition to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the literary group Siuru
Siuru – an expressionist and neo-romantic literary group founded in 1917 in Estonia – celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2017. In order to celebrate the occasion, Under and Tuglas Literature Centre organised an exhibition at the Estonian National Library. At this virtual exhibition a selection of works which were presented at the main exhibition are displayed.
