On 1 February the Estonian translation of the collection Gesta Romanorum will be presented in Tartu
This year`s final volume in the Looming Library series is the collection of stories Roomlaste teod (Deeds of the Romans / Gesta Romanum). Five young translators have contributed 50 stories from this late medieval bestseller under the guidance of senior researcher Kristi Viiding (as pictured) and Maria-Kristiina Lotman, who have provided the publication with a thorough foreword and afterword.
On Saturday, 1 February at 18.00 you are warmly invited to the cultural club Promenaadiviis (Ülikooli 1, Tartu), to the presentation of last year`s final volume of the Looming Library series, the Estonian translation of the collection of stories Deeds of the Romans. Meelis Friedenthal will speak about the background of the collection; the collective process of its translation will be illuminated by Martin Uudevald, and the editor Lauri Eesmaa represent the Looming Library. In the intervals between presentations, Siim Angerpikk will read short tales from the translated collection.
