ETIS

Rein Undusk obtained an MA degree in Estonian literature at the University of Tartu in 2001. From then on, he has been working as a researcher at the Under and Tuglas Literature Centre of the Estonian Academy of Sciences.

Rein Undusk has published research on Estonian literature, as well as in the field of the conceptual history of literature and culture. One of his primary interests is topos: the semantics of space in the oeuvre of A. H. Tammsaare, the emergence of the concept of topos in literature, and the conundrum of the infinity of space. In connection to the latter, he has focused on constructions of transcendence (literally “that which climbs over”) in culture, and hopes soon to publish a monograph with the working title, “Rhetoric of Culture. The Case of Infinity”.
