Einer Revaler Liebe auf der Spur. Werkstattbericht zur Erforschung des Briefwechsels von Caspar Meyer und Katharina von der Hoyen (Reval ca. 1637-1653)
Das im letzten Jahr in Tallinn präsentierte Projekt zur Erforschung dieser Liebesbriefe aus dem Stadtarchiv Tallinn hat Fortschritte gemacht. Es soll vorgestellt werden, auf welchen Wegen und mit welchem Erfolg weitere Informationen über den Briefwechsel und die daran beteiligten Personen gewonnen wurden. Dabei gilt natürlich der zentrale Frage nach dem Status der Dokumente selbst besondere Aufmerksamkeit. Denn es ist eben bisher nicht gesichert, ob die Briefe wirklich Gegenstand eines juristischen Verfahrens waren oder lediglich konfisziert wurden. Ebenso werden die Schreiber Caspar und Katharina und ihre Familien in ihrem sozialen Umfeld verfolgt. Dabei tun sich zahlreiche Fragen und Rätsel auf, die bisher nur zu einem Teil zu beantworten sind.

The last year in Tallinn presented project to research these love letters from the City Archives Tallinn has made progress. It will be presented, in what ways and to what effect further information about the exchange of letters and the people involved were recovered. Of course, special attention applies to the central question of the status of the documents themselves.
Because it’s just not yet certain whether the letters were really the subject of legal proceedings or were simply confiscated. Likewise, the writers Caspar and Katharina and their families are persecuted in their social environment. Here, a number of questions and puzzles to do, which are so far to answer only partially.
